As an organization dedicated to generating and advocating for comprehensive solutions that benefit children's well-being we are committed to addressing and mitigating the effects of climate change through our operations, programs, and advocacy efforts. This policy outlines our approach to integrating climate change considerations into all aspects of our work.

Objectives

• Reduce Carbon Footprint: Minimize the greenhouse gas emissions associated with our activities.

• Promote Sustainability: Encourage sustainable practices within our organization and among our stakeholders.

• Advocate for Climate Action: Support policies and initiatives that address climate change at local, national, and global levels.

  1-Organizational Operations

• Energy Efficiency: We implement energy-efficient practices in our offices, including the use of energy-efficient lighting, and appliances.

• Sustainable Procurement: We prioritize the purchase of eco-friendly and sustainable products and services.

• Waste Reduction: We promote waste reduction, recycling, and composting programs within our organization. Reduce single-use plastics and encourage the use of reusable materials.

• Travel and Transportation: We encourage the use of public transportation, carpooling, and prefer virtual meetings to reduce the carbon footprint associated with travel. When travel is necessary, we choose the most carbon-efficient options available.

  2-Programmatic Activities

• Climate-Smart Programs: We integrate climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies into our programs and projects. We ensure that our initiatives do not exacerbate climate risks.

• Community Engagement: We work with project beneficiaries to raise awareness about climate change and promote practices that reduce vulnerability and enhance resilience.  

• Environmental Education: We include climate change education in our outreach and educational programs to inform and empower individuals and children to take action.

     3-Monitoring and Reporting

• Performance Tracking: We regularly monitor and report on our progress in implementing this climate change policy. 

• Reporting: Reporting our efforts and its outcomes to the public and stakeholders through social media and to donors via regular reports.

     4-Implementation and Review

• Responsibilities: We assigned a dedicated team member, MEAL Officer, responsible for overseeing the implementation of this policy. She will ensure that all staff members are aware of and adhere to the policy.

• Training and Capacity Building: We provide training and resources to staff, volunteers, and partners to enhance their understanding and capacity to address climate change.

• Continuous Improvement: We regularly review and update this policy to reflect new knowledge, technologies, and best practices in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
